SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF

This product from SkinCeuticals has been five years in the making and I can see why. I will tell you more about this in a moment.

If you are undecided or confused about the difference between the CF and CE I will clear that up right now.
CE Ferulic

  • 1% Vitamin E
  • 15% Vitamin C
  • 0.5% Ferulic Acid

Phloretin CF

  • No Vitamin E
  • 10% Vitamin C
  • 0.5 % Ferulic Acid
  • 2% Phloretin

Ferulic acid, an antioxidant that is derived from plants is supposed to boast the performance of Vitamins C and E.
Phloretin on the other hand is a compound found only in apples that inhibits sugar transport between red blood cells.
Now that my short chemistry lesson is over I am sure you want to know what this product will do for you. Well, not much… That is if getting rid of sun damage to your skin means nothing.

After four weeks of using this product my brown patches began fading, of course I am using this in combination with a couple other products but this really does the trick.

I must warn you however that the product does have a slightly greasy feel to it so be prepared, especially if you have oily skin. The other thing is that it does have a distinct smell, not awful just distinct. I mask both the smell and the sheen with my sunscreen so that works well so far.

Do not use this product if you have extremely sensitive skin. My skin is sensitive but not overly so. The first day I used it I saw some redness but have not had any problems after this. Also, if you are looking to decrease the appearance of wrinkles then this is not the product to get this done.

To beat the signs of aging and sun damage SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF gets my thumbs up every time.
